Yosemite Half Dome

Half Dome Diving Board! What an amazing view & experience. ❤️
Half Dome Cables! So fun!!

What do you do when a friend calls you up that’s dealing with a difficult ex and says I need a break. Well of course you take off a couple days later on a hippie trip towards Yosemite. We headed out with a duffle bag of clothes, a backpacking tent and paddle boards strapped on the Audi. No set plans, no permits and researched what to do and where to go along the way. Tuesday morning we camped at Chimney Beach on Lake Tahoe and at 7 am logged in to get day use passes to get into Yosemite. Seconds later they were sold out so my friend suggested let’s try to get half dome passes and we got lucky and she won the lottery for half done passes! Woot woot! Luckiest two people alive at that moment! Half dome gave me Dustin Jorgenson and my friend a 7 day permit to enter the park and to hike half dome. Luck was on our side! Everything about this hippie trip was an amazing experience! I had always dreamt about going to a Yosemite ever since I was a little kid and seen pictures of the Sequoias in National Geographic magazines. And then El Capitan and all the incredible videos of rock climbers on that magnificent wall.

Birthday Celebration 2020!

Rice Crispy Birthday Cake! Coolest Cake Ever!!

Spent the day celebrating my birthday with all 4 of my kids, granddaughter, Kamree’s boyfriend Ben and my best friend Justin. We went and watched Jumanji 2 and then came home and had a nice dinner. Kade barbecued some elk steaks and Kamree cooked up a can of green beans and Kaitlyn made a nice dessert. We spent the rest of the night watching movies and playing games. As a father it was a perfect day to have all my kids around me having an enjoyable time together. Life is Good!

The Utah Tight Endz: Spring Time Means Football Time!

We are underway with our Women’s Flag Football League out here in Utah.  My wife was asked to form a new team after Pink Crush, and so she and a few others asked me to be one of the coaches of her new team; “Utah Tight Endz.”   (I didn’t come up with the name ~ahem~)  But we certainly are having fun with the name as you can see:

The Endz' ends

Yep that skinny butt over there in the red is me; Dustin Jorgenson.  lol

Fishing Trip

It’s no secret that I enjoy fishing.  Absolutely love it!

There truly is no better way to totally decompress from the stress of work and life than heading for the nearby mountains and spending the time with friends (or without) and casting a hook into one of the many high altitude lakes here in Utah–specifically the Uintah Mountain Range.

I spent a lot of time here as a kid, having grown up quite literally in the Uintah foothills in a small town called Kamas.  I was raised with three other brothers (I am the oldest) and one sister who quite frankly was just as good as being a “boy” as the rest of us were…

So getting out during the summer and fall months is pretty natural to me.  Here are a few photos of one of my last fishing trips of the season.

I went with a bunch of friends I work with and one day we played “hookey” and loaded up the ATVs and headed off to one of my secret fishing holes–a very cool lake located in such a place that you can only access it with ATVs and a horse.

It’s pretty safe to say that most of the time I have it all to myself up here, and the lake produces some great trout as well.

Now that winter is approaching, I will have to pack up my rods and reels since I don’t do a whole lot of ice fishing–too cold and there are way too many other fun activities to do like snowmobiling and stuff.  (And I play volleyball three nights a week on city rec leagues, so that takes some time out of my schedule too)  So as winter approaches, I will sadly store my fishing gear and look forward to the day next spring that I can unpack it and take my son and kids up to the lakes to wet a hook from time to time…
